The Urzeithof conveys natural history knowledge about the history of the Earth and evolution in a vivid and varied way.  

One of our central tasks is to protect objects from decay and preserve them for future generations.

The comprehensible communication of natural history knowledge about the development of life and the lively, intergenerational presentation of changes in biodiversity are fundamental components of our museum work.

Today, the Urzeithof has more than 100 collections from private owners, which, together with the collection built up by Katrin Mohr, form the core of our collection. Donated collections are carefully archived and stored, and each find is labeled with the name of the respective collector in order to honor and respect their often lifelong commitment.
