The Urzeithof is a natural history museum located in the glacial lake landscape of Schleswig-Holstein.

The exhibition is a time travel through the history of the earth.

Starting with meteorites and billion year old stromatolites, our exhibition leads through the different geological eras with fossil nautiloids and trilobites, ceratites and ammonites, a complete psittacosaur, fossil sea urchins and amber, ice age mammoth teeth, to the head of a woolly rhinoceros and a complete cave bear, as well as stone age tools.

The Urzeithof is barrier-free and offers not only adult visitors comprehensive insights into the development of life. It is important to Katrin Mohr to convey the fascinating world of fossils and natural history to children, and so selected exhibits are also displayed outside the showcases, with the idea of making the development of life understandable to children in the truest sense of the word.

After the museum visit, children can search for real fossils on a fossil hunting ground and collect small gems in a sandbox.

In the rooms of the main building, next to the store, there is a natural history exhibition with exhibits from the sea, the air and the forest.

Art exhibitions, workshops, fairs and markets complete our offer.
